Earned Safe and Sick Leave (ESSL)

April 1, 2022

1/3/2022, City Council Meeting begins at 1:49:47, 8.2 Earned Sick and Safe Leave (ESSL) Task Force Report by Mike Sable, Assistant City Manager, EESL Task Force Member, Nat Anderson-Lippert and Peter Zuniga, Deputy City Attorney, Civil Division

WHY IT MATTERS

Businesses have already suffered enough set backs since COVID began (increase in expenses and lost revenue) and now the city is planning to add another expense to their operating costs.

From the proposed Local Area Sales Tax (LOST) to the Flavored Tobacco Ban, we see efforts to pass more anti-business ordinances. Now, the Council takes yet another business decision away from owners and makes it their own.
