Check out these links for more information on these candidates:
Tad Jude: Jude for Congress
Brad Kohler: Bradkohler.com
Jamie Page: Jamie Page for United States House of Representatives
Quentin Wittrock: Quentin for Congress

Registration will start at 10:00 AM and close at 11:15 AM.  The convention will formally convene at 11:00 AM.

Delegates and alternates to this convention are elected by their senate districts in CD3 to represent them at this convention.  Delegates and alternates may register in advance for $40 until April 24.  After April 24, registration will cost $50.  Republicans are welcome to attend as guests for $20.

Delegates (and seated alternates) will
* vote to endorse a Republican candidate for US Congress.
* elect delegates and alternates to the Republican National Convention (RNC) in July
* elect a Presidential Elector to serve this election cycle.
* approve proposed adjustments to the state party platform.
* hear from several speakers and other candidates about the 2023-2024 legislative sessions and the 2024 elections.

The formal convention call will go out to convention delegates and alternates no later than April 17. Senate districts in the 3rd Congressional District are still conducting their conventions, so election of delegates and alternates to the CD3 convention will not be complete until April 14.

To endorse a Republican candidate for US Congress, at least 60% of the delegates and seated alternates in attendance must vote in favor of that candidate. It may take several rounds of voting to reach that consensus. The considerations and deliberations that will go into voting on our four candidates is the essence of the work of endorsing conventions.

Information on the candidates for endorsement for US Congress, for RNC delegates and alternates, and for Presidential Elector will be posted on the CD3 website in the near future.

Delegates and alternates should bring with them a smart phone or tablet and a pen. Given that there are four candidates vying for endorsement, many rounds of balloting may be required. We are exploring the use of electronic balloting using smart phones and tablets to expedite the reporting of results.

Applications for CD3 Republican Presidential Elector being Accepted

The deadline to apply to be a delegate or alternate to the Republican National Convention in July has passed.  It is still possible to apply to be the one Presidential Elector from the 3rd Congressional District.

The work of a Presidential Elector is prescribed by law.  Briefly, it is a ceremonial role that involves meeting in St Paul a few weeks after the November election to cast Minnesota’s official votes for the US President and US Vice President.

If you wish to be a candidate for the CD3 Presidential Elector, please submit the following by email to kathy@consumerwarfare.com and randywacs@aol.com:
 * your name
 * headshot photo (.jpeg format)
 * senate district
 * bullet point summary of your campaign experience and your work specifically within the party structure (BPOU, CD, and/or state level)
 * short essay (150 words or less) why you believe that you would be a good candidate to be the CD3 Presidential Elector
 * pledge that you will cast your vote for the Republican winner of the popular vote
* contact information (email address and cellphone number)

The deadline for submission is Friday, April 19.
