SD50 Republicans Endorse Owen Michaelson for MN House of Representatives

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - May 23, 2024 - The Senate District 50 Republicans announced today their endorsement of Owen Michaelson in his campaign for the Minnesota House of Representatives, seat 50A. Michaelson, a longtime community leader and former school board member, is known for his balanced, common-sense approach to the issues facing Minnesotans.

Michaelson's priorities include balanced taxation, support of public safety and strengthening education, with a particular focus on elementary literacy. During his tenure on the school board, he fought for greater investments in early reading programs and initiatives to boost student achievement. He will bring that same passion for educational excellence to the Legislature.

"I am honored to have earned the endorsement of the SD50 Republicans," said Michaelson. "Like them, I believe in collaborative problem-solving and building broad coalitions to deliver results for our communities. At the State Capitol, I will work tirelessly to ensure our district has a strong voice and that our shared values of fiscal responsibility, educational opportunity, and economic growth are reflected in the laws we pass."

Beyond his service on the school board, Michaelson has a long record of involvement in the community through his church, local charities, and youth mentorship programs, Owen is even an Eagle Scout. He and his wife of 27 years, Bethany, reside in Edina where they raised their four children.

The endorsement by the SD50 Republicans gives Michaelson key backing as he heads into the final months of the campaign. With their grassroots support and his positive vision for Minnesota,

Owen Michaelson is well-positioned to win in November and begin serving as a thoughtful, effective legislator for Senate District 50.
