FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SECOND CANDIDATE ENDORSED BY SENATE DISTRICT 50 REPUBLICANS FOR MINNESOTA HOUSE OF

REPRESENTATVES

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – June 20, 2024 - Senate District 50 (SD50) Republicans announced today their

endorsement of Bob Gust in his campaign bid for the Minnesota House of Representatives, seat 50B. This

announcement comes only weeks following SD50’s endorsement of seat 50A candidate Owen

Michaelson.

Gust is a lifelong Minnesota resident and has resided in Bloomington for the past 25 years. Running on “A

Better Alternative” campaign platform, Gust believes he can better represent the ideals and priorities of

the citizens of House District 50B compared to the DFL incumbent. “I have talked to many people in the

district, and I consistently hear the same thing - voting rights for felons, driver’s licenses for non-citizens

and legalizing marijuana are not their priorities. If elected, I will work tirelessly to reign in taxes, align

spending to the priorities of my constituents, and put a stop to pursuing policies that not only increase

crime but have a detrimental effect on the quality of life all Minnesotans expect and deserve.” Gust

added, “I am proud and humbled to receive the endorsement of SD50 Republicans, and I look forward to

representing our common voice and shared values in St. Paul come January 2024.”

Beyond his commitment to his community, Gust is an accomplished attorney with 40 years of experience

helping clients prevent and resolve problems.

“Bob Gust not only represents a new alternative, he also represents a new alternative,” said Teri Hovanec,

Co-Chair of SD50 Republicans. “Minnesotans simply deserve better and Bob will fight hard to represent

what matters most to his constituents. We are honored to give him our full endorsement.”

With the backing and support of SD50, Bob Gust is well positioned to win the 50B seat in November and

put forth an agenda that accurately represents his constituents and the Bloomington community at large.
