- Select CONTACTS – it shows ALL your contacts FYI
SwipeRed will ask you if it can compare your phone contacts with the campaign’s voter file. We take your privacy seriously – and we will not see your contacts. SwipeRed only uses this information to match, and recommend to you, the people that a message is most relevant to, so you can decide which people you'd like to share the message with.
SwipeRed identifies your friends who are most likely to want to engage with our message.
- Select SETTINGS
- Select Synchronization
- Select the ‘gear’ in the upper right corner. This takes you to your phone’s Settings page. Make sure that SwipeRed is allowed to access your contacts. Return to Synchronization.
- Press Resync My Contacts – you will see that only local contacts are selected – SMART MATCHES. You can uncheck anyone you don’t want to send messages to. .
Note: None of the campaigns you support can access your contacts or contact them in any way other than through YOU and through YOUR specific and explicit action. You are asked to synchronize contacts when you first sign on. After that the system does not automatically synchronize contacts. If you add new contacts to your list, you can resync them to the system.
- Depending on how many contacts you have the resyncing can take a while. SwipeRed will process in the background, you can move on to other usages of the App.
- ASSIGN CONTACTS – these will be 5 people IN your candidates area who you don’t know but they are likely to support your candidate and you can help your candidate by messaging them.
- On each Campaign there are 4 tabs – Message; Events; FAQ; and Badges
- Message – main information from candidate; starting screen to Share
- Events – keep track of Event – meetings, calls, fun things. Check it often.
- FAQ – often the candidate has information on their Platform
- TRASH – IF a contact keeps showing up in your Campaign that you will never want to send to, you can TRASH that contact from SwipeRed (NOT your phone) on the MAIN contact screen by ‘swiping left’ and pressing the TRASH icon. (there are a few seconds delay from when you Press until when it is removed)
- Remember you are always in charge of who you send to and what you send.. You decide who to message, when to message them and what the message says. The campaign has no ability to directly message your contacts. You can’t send group messages.
- To SHARE a message, a) SELECT 1 you wish to send. B) Select Share to Contacts arrow c) Send by APP, phone, email, or text.
